The Wine Roads

There are five roads to the wine that wind through Umbria, a land with a long food and wine tradition: the Strada dei Vini del Cantico, the Strada dei Vini Etrusco-Romana, the Strada dei Vini Colli del Trasimeno along which it is possible to visit the wineries that produce Umbrian wine excellences surrounded by the splendid panoramas that the territory offers. There are also numerous events and tastings that the numerous Umbrian wineries offer to present their products: one above all is Open cellars, which takes place at the end of May each year; there are various native Umbrian vines, from Sagrantino to Grechetto, and every moment of the year can become an opportunity to go and discover them.

The Oil Road

Extra virgin olive oil is another of the many fruits of the Umbrian land: the DOP Oil Road “Umbria” travels through the places dedicated to the production of the different varieties of oil present in the territory.

Typical products

There are many typical products of the Umbrian territory, starting from the various Slow Food presidia, such as the Fagiolina del Lago Trasimeno, to move on to the Black Truffle of Norcia, cheeses and typical pork butchery, and each small area of ​​Umbria is characterized by expressing its own excellence with the peculiarities that distinguish it. The Trasimeno area, where the farmhouse is located, is characterized by an interesting mix of Umbrian and Tuscan traditions, with the possibility of tasting the characteristic fish products of Lake Trasimeno and Lake Chiusi in dishes whose recipes are lost in the mists of time, like the Brustico, the Tegamaccio, or the Regina in porchetta. There really is something for everyone!
